Shivalik Bank Business Correspondents (BCs)
“Being able to spread our wings to the unbanked areas of the country gives us immense satisfaction”
The bank has initiated a program to appoint BCs in rural areas to provide banking services to unbanked areas in order to serve them in a better way. The bank has opened its first BC office in June 2013 at Nakur and has eventually grown to 3 BC offices as of October 31, 2018.
This has been done in partnership with Janhit Foundation, a Lucknow based NGO, registered under the Societies Act, 1860, in 2002 and also recognized/registered u/s 12 A (a) and 80 G (5) (VI) of Income Tax Act, 1961.Janhit Foundation’s vision is to improve access to affordable micro-credit, insurance, livelihood, health, education services, food, water and sanitation.
Additionally, Janhit Foundation is registered under FCRA and governed by a nine-member executive committee. In select BC offices the bank has also provided ATM-cum-CDM machines. Please note that Janhit Foundation, Lucknow, is not in any way related to another NGOwith a similar name based in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
We are in process to collaborate with more NGOs and appoint more such business correspondents. We will update you soon with the same.
